Problem Solving Mathematics
This week, Year 1 students enjoyed completing several problem solving activities related to Length. The following hands-on activities helped students to compare, describe and measure length in a variety of practical contexts:
Students estimated then measured how many paper clips fit the length of toy dinosaurs.

Using a ruler, students created triangles with the dimensions 20x20x10cm
Students slid coins across the table then measured their distance in centimetres.
Students completed a standing long jump then measured the distance of their jump in centimetres.
